Language Arts -
Journal entry #1: "What are your thoughts and feelings on the first day of school?"
(1/2 Page Double Spaced - the middle line hole of the paper)
Journal entry #2: "What is a friend? How do you become friends with someone? Can you be friendly without being friends? Explain." (10 Lines min.)

Note: Journal entries are what I call "Type 1" writing. The grade is based on the student putting in their "Reasonable Best Effort" and completing the minimum amount of writing. "Reasonable Best Effort" in a journal entry is defined as capitalization at the beginning and punctuation at the end of every sentence, the writing stays focused on answering the question that was asked, and the writing is neat and easily readable.

Upcoming Events:
The Cornroast is Tuesday, August 31st at 5:30pm. (Which also happens to be Sydney and Maegan's birthdays). The Cornroast is a meet-and-greet event where a meal of corn on the cob (roasted on a big grill), salad, and rolls is served at 5:30pm. Following the meal, each classroom has a meeting scheduled for parents to meet the with their child's teacher, who will discuss the school year and answer any questions you have.
